The Textile Association (India), founded
in 1939, is a recognised body of textile
professionals. The Association has now over 19000 members, which
makes this professional body the largest in the field of textiles
in the Asian Sub-Continent.
The Association has 27 affiliated units, representing professionals
of various zones, spread throughout the length and breadth of
India. The central office of the Association is situated in
Mumbai. TAI
assumes an important role in the changing global business scenario,
particularly it's impact on textile industry. |

| Mission |
| The mission of the Association is to promote
professionalism through spread of knowledge and training in
the textile industry. The activities of the Association are
organised with following objectives in view. |
To promote
the use of scientific knowledge in textiles, from fibres to
fabrics.
To conduct educational programs in technology and management.
To provide opportunity to its members to improve upon their
qualifications for achieving excellence in their job performance.
To honour individuals who contribute significantly towards the development of professionalism in the textile
industry. To analyse
the impact of changes in the socio-economic environment towards
textile industry
and evolve policy strategies for recommendations
to the Government and Industry.
To develop a sense of brotherhood amongst textile fraternity.

| Activities |
| Textile Association organises seminar,
conferences, specialized lectures, workshops, refresher courses,
mill visits and exhibitions of textile and allied machines for
the benefit of members serving the textile industry. These activities
are held on monthly basis. |

| TAI-PHC |
| TAI-PHC is one of the Zonal Units
of Textile Association (India). It represents Textile
professionals working in Punjab, Himachal and Chandigarh. It
has own elected body of office bearers and an executive
committee. |
